Fife Photography Charity Matching Program
Suppose you had a million dollars. What would you do with it? Some might purchase a yacht, fancy cars, the latest technology, or other selfish possessions. Still others might follow the lead of other successful millionaires and become philanthropists-- donating a portion of their earnings for the betterment of the world. But would you sacrifice it all?
Kevin was such a millionaire. Eleven years ago, Kevin was at the top of his game. His millions in combination with his frugal lifestyle would have promised financially security for the rest of his life. His career path had him on the fast track to success. He could have been living comfortably and easily. But fate had a different plan.
It happened eleven years ago when Kevin was traveling with his daughter on a study-abroad trip to Africa. What he observed altered the course of his life forever.
He saw 60 small children attending school in a crammed shack, sitting on benches stacked on a dirt floor. There were no desks, no books, no electricity, no plumbing. Yet the expressions on their faces showed such eagerness to learn and gratitude for the opportunity. He felt that he, with the help of others, could make a difference.
In the true spirit of Christianity, Kevin at the young age of 45 retired his lucrative career in the corporate world to consecrate all his time and resources to establish a charity organization called Reach the Children. Since that fateful trip to Africa, nearly a million children and adults in sixteen countries have been given a second chance at life and a reason to live through the efforts of Reach the Children. This number will continue to grow exponentially because of Reach the Children's emphasis on self-sustaining programs. Miracles have happened and Africa is changing for the better.
However, there is another side of the story. Though many of the programs are self-sustaining and will continue indefinitely, there are some that cannot continue without funding. Unfortunately, former donations intended to jump start these programs have run out, Kevin's assets are spent, and the future of many programs is in danger. There is a serious short-term funding shortage.
Luckily additional funding has been promised that will ensure that Reach the Children will continue indefinitely. However this funding has been temporarily delayed. With Kevin unable to help financially, we at Fife Photography ask for your help and resources.
Reach the Children needs $27,000 to cover this critical shortfall. That is why we have decided to initiate the Charity Benefit Matching Program. With this program, we donate ALL your session and print fees to Reach the Children. Not only will 100% of your donations go to Reach the Children, but we will PRICE MATCH your generosity. Our goal is to raise $8,000 before Christmas with your assistance.
I always wince when I hear the story of Jesus asking the young rich man to give up all that he owns to follow Him. I wince because I know that I could not do that. Kevin never winced.
Our invitation to you is to not wince. We're not asking you to give up everything you own (though we would take it :). As Christmas approaches, we invite you to succumb to the spirit of giving and offer what you can to help these sweet African children.
If you are not in a position to help, please think of someone with whom you could share this benefit event. Remember that with our Price Matching Program, $25 from you means $50 will directly benefit the children in Africa. Thank you for your consideration.
